Embracing What Makes Us, Us.
An old post with helpful free resources + recording of last week's workshop
Hi friend,
This week I wanted to go back in time with a fun opportunity to read one of my first posts that I’ve taken out of the archives for everyone to enjoy. It might have been written over a year ago, but the sentiment still rings true, at least for me.
I hope you’ll enjoy it and comment on it to share your thoughts:
In this post I explain why I think “grit” is the wrong thing to focus on. I explain why culture and societal systems are keeping us from our truest versions of ourselves.
I also provide journal prompts and a PDF of vagal toning exercises designed to support your nervous system. Both are aimed to support you in building the resilience necessary to continue your healing path despite the broken systems in which we live.
May they be as supportive for you as they have been for me.
If you’re wanting more information and support on nervous system regulation and embracing the complexities of your body, below is the recording and slides from last weekend’s workshop, Embracing your unique nervous system.
This workshop includes:
a mini-lecture to teach you about the ins and outs of the autonomic nervous system, including an in-depth explanation of the three survival responses your body is in at any given moment
A guided meditation and journal exercise to support deeper insight into your own unique nervous system and how you experience it
A guided breathwork meditation to support nervous system regulation
Thank you for those who showed up to the live workshop. It was such a joy being with you all for a cozy Sunday morning full of learning and insights. Let’s keep the learning going through the chat function; I’d love to hear your continued exploration into your unique nervous system!
Stay tuned for more offerings to come!
Be well,
The part embracing my..Self.
“Bringing awareness to all the “shoulds” you’re upholding in your life, and how they are impacting your well-being, is the first step in dismantling the armor of grit that is needed to fulfill someone else’s version of success.”
